Deskovick Maternity Center Expansion
Continued philanthropy will create:
- A maternity assessment unit to increase triage space
- An induction suite for patients awaiting C-sections
- More postpartum patient rooms in the mother-baby unit
- On-call sleeping rooms for clinicians
In 2025, Foundation for Morristown Medical Center donors contributed to enable expansion and modernization efforts within the Deskovick Maternity Center. This includes repurposing existing space within the center and upgrading vital equipment to continue accommodating growing volumes while improving operational efficiency and patient experience to guarantee that all new parents and babies continue receiving the care they need.
Vital equipment upgrades will supply Labor and Delivery and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit teams:
- Incubators
- Omnibeds for premature or critically ill infants
- Warmers for newborns
- A portable ultrasound machine that can provide bedside imaging
Additional philanthropy will be needed to reach $6M goal.

PeriWatch Vigilance® System
This AI-based maternal-fetal early warning system improves the care and outcomes of both mothers and babies. Donor funding helped to purchase this cutting-edge technology, which will support clinical decision-making and safety for mothers and babies during labor and delivery. Using AI and other analytics, the vigilance software continuously monitors maternal vital signs to help clinical teams identify potential issues and abnormalities for faster intervention.

A generous gift from Barbara and David Bugen, among other donor contributions, will advance this one-year program to improve resident education and increase patient safety and experience. The program will allow renowned Atlantic Health Morristown clinicians to train fellows and provide them with the clinical and leadership skills necessary for success while also bringing additional talent on board to meet growing community needs.

The Women’s Health Clinic at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is a full-service clinic that offers comprehensive OB/GYN care for uninsured and underinsured women at no cost partially due to generous contributions from donors. The clinic sees an average of 1,000 patients a month, delivers 600 babies a year and treats women for general OB/GYN care and specialized services in precancer and cancer care, high-risk pregnancy and urogynecology. Funds enable several clinic programs, services and equipment needs for underserved women in the community.
In 2025, the clinic performed 2,975 gynecology exams and more than 600 women sought obstetrical services. In addition to obstetrical care, a nurse navigator follows up with all new mothers and ensures that those in high-risk categories, such as patients with diabetes, high blood pressure and heart issues, receive continuing specialized medical care. On average, the nurse navigator makes 130 outreach calls per month. The clinic also offers the services of a nurse educator, a dietitian and a social worker who provide counseling on topics such as contraception, healthy diets and relevant social services.
