Women’s Health initiatives at Morristown Medical Center are made possible through the support of Sharon and Peter Cocoziello, Carol Earle, Mary Ellen and Gates Hawn, Kathy and Matt Sheeleigh, Janet and Peter Simon, Katie Simon and Brace Krag, Eileen and Scott Lowry, Marcie and Glenn Yarnis, members of the Women’s Health Philanthropy Council and many others.
Fourth Stage of Pregnancy Program
Philanthropy remains essential in reducing health disparities. Last year, donors such as the F. M. Kirby Foundation, Inc., Barbara and Bob Luciano and Kathy and Matt Sheeleigh supported a nurse navigator focused on the underserved maternity demographic within our communities. The navigator provides telehealth visits for the weeks and months after childbirth, which many health experts call the fourth trimester. This period has been earmarked as a time when new mothers have the least interaction with their health care team. Particular attention was placed on high-risk patients, such as those with preeclampsia and gestational diabetes during pregnancy.
The Women’s Association for Morristown Medical Center’s 2024 Spring Fundraiser – Ode to Color – will also benefit this essential program.
