The late Darren Siker According to the Centers for Disease Control and prevention, almost 3 million adults in the United States have epilepsy, making it one of the most common neurological diseases today.
Morristown Medical Center’s multidisciplinary team, comprised of highly specialized neurologists, neurosurgeons, nurses and technologists and more, provides advanced care for patients with a seizure disorder. Established in 2023 with a generous donation from Trish O’Keefe, PhD, RN, in honor of her late husband, the Darren Siker Adult Epilepsy Program Fund continues to drive crucial program growth, enabling the medical center to provide the highest level of care possible for this important patient population. With ongoing philanthropy, the fund will help create a dedicated unit for Inpatient Epilepsy Care, staffed by a specialized team.
